On June 22, 2010, long time friends Kevin Toomajian and Jim Gruettner opened

Marengo on Union in the Cow Hollow District of San Francisco. Five years later,    Marengo on the Alley makes its debut in the Financial District. Both locations offer a relaxed, yet sophisticated environment to enjoy delicious wines & whiskeys from all over the world, alongside a menu of fresh and perfectly paired ingredients.

The food at Marengo is inspired by Chef Rayna Toomajian and is American in spirit. We use local, organic and seasonal ingredients wherever possible with a few southern touches from her home town of Austin, Texas. The menus feature twenty-one gourmet sliders, large, fresh salads and delicious appetizers. Our buns are baked fresh daily by Firebrand Artisan Breads, our meat is sourced locally from
Biagio Artisan Meats and

all our dressings and sauces are made from scratch in-house.

Marengo’s drink menus feature a sixty-plus bottle wine list with over twenty selections available by-the-glass; a variety of craft beers brewed locally and abroad; over a hundred whiskey offerings from Scotland to Japan to Ireland to Kentucky to Alameda, California

& hand-crafted cocktails using fresh juices and ingredients.

This means we have something for everyone.

Both locations boast unique spaces and offer intimate dining in the front of the restaurant with full bars in the back. Marengo on Union is situated under two retractable glass roofs offering a distinct and special experience. Marengo’s design is an interpretation of the comfortable, neighborhood gathering place which has unfolded to be simple, urban and functional. On game days, our flat screens and crowds of excited sports fans fill our spaces with cheer and a sense of pride for everyone’s favorite teams.

We look forward to welcoming you to Marengo!
